Summer Manager:
In season, five days weekly, on-site. Minimum 20 hrs/week. Duties pre-season: assist in hiring employees and contractors, prepare Village for visitors. In season: responsible for day-to-day operation, train, schedule and oversee staff, operate store and tours, keep Village clean and maintained, work with volunteers for special events, schedule group tours, oversee finances. minimum staffing is a store clerk and a tour guide. The ideal candidate would be: familiar with the history of the Acadians in the Upper St. John Valley, have a basic knowledge of Acadian French, have previous supervisory experience, organized, good communicator and problem-solver. Compensation $7,500. to $9,000. for a full season plus some pre-season.
Store clerk:
Open and close store daily, greet visitors, collect admission fees, sell souvenir items and refreshments. Maintain accurate finance records (cash register and credit/debit cards). Some morning hours for tour groups. Can be up to five days per week for one clerk and a minimum of two days per week for a second clerk. Could be combined with guiding.
Guide:
During season, regular hours plus some mornings for group tours. Lead tours with up to 10 people. Be familiar with the history of the Acadians in Maine and with the history of the Village buildings and contents. Light housekeeping and regular building cleaning.
